Whoever said food that tastes good can’t be good for you never tried the food at Wellspring Florida weight loss camp. At Wellspring Florida weight loss camp we focus on a very low-fat, low calorie-density diet, of less then 20 grams per day. This is because much of the fat we eat is in the way the food is prepared, so campers learn how to cook, order, and identify food that is nutritious and delicious. Cutting out fat means reducing the caloric density of what we’re eating, this means fewer calories.

Wellspring Florida campers enjoy an array of delicious foods each day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and dessert are specifically designed to satisfy, while providing campers with the energy they need to stay active. Wellspring employs a unique approach to diet which often leaves campers and families asking, “Why didn’t we eat this way before?” Through a combination of preparing low-fat, low-density versions of the foods that campers are used to and the unique “controlled” and “uncontrolled” food system, Wellspring Florida campers are sure to leave each meal pleased and satiated.

The Wellspring Florida dining hall provides a clean and comfortable haven for campers to experience eating the low-fat, low-density way that is conducive to weight control. Before long, campers are well-versed in serving themselves portions of “controlled” and “uncontrolled” foods followed by self-monitoring. Controlled foods are the main course of the meal, conveniently portioned out by friendly dining hall staff. Uncontrolled foods are vegetables, fruits, fat-free yogurts, cottage cheese, soups, salad items and condiments. Unlimited access to these foods trains campers to self-regulate and monitor their intake. Then, campers review their self-monitoring journals with their Behavioral Coach. Consequently, campers become confident in the food choices they make and the weight loss they can experience as a result of those choices.
